  • Letter to Mr. Joseph S. Cullinan from Dr. William M. Drake pleading for a chance to prove that he and the other Black physicians are capable of running the Houston Negro Hospital. The superintendent, Margaret H. Bright, has not reported correctly about the hospital failing. Contrary to her words, Dr. J. W. Slaughter is still highly regarded by hospital doctors, nurses and other staff.
