KUHT-TV (Television station)

The first segment, entitled "News Notes," is a review of news for the week. The second segment is a political panel discussion with Prof. Richard W. Murray of the University of Houston, former Houston Mayor Jim McConn, Jane Ely of the Houston Chronicle, Tom Kennedy of the Houston Post, and State Rep. Tony Polumbo. The third segment discusses a riot between Black and Hispanic students at Dowling Middle School, with Rosmary Gonzalez Covalt, former school volunteer, and Miguel De La Santos, Deputy Superintendent of Houston Independent School District (HISD). The fourth segment covers the proposed HL&P rate hike and the new power plant with consumer advocate and outspoken critic of the light company, Bryan Baker. The fifth segment is a discussion about the Surgeon General's recommendations on alcohol abuse with Rick Donley, President of the Harris County Beer Wholesalers, Claudine Henderson, Director of the Houston Council of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, and Dr. Joseph Schoolar of the Baylor College of Medicine. The sixth segment features Alvin "Boom Boom" Jackson commenting on the Houston Astros and sports in Houston. The seventh segment is a discussion on the Gulf of Mexico being off-limits to shrimpers for a month, with Jan Harper, President of the Texas Shrimp Association and Joseph Schaaf, Vice President of the Southeast Packing Company. Linda Ellerbee provides commentary on Houston's history.
