Recording of lecture given by historian Oscar Handlin on February 4, 1966, at the second annual Humanities Series at SMTI (Southeastern Massachusetts Technological Institute, now University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth). Professor Jagdish Mehra welcomes the audience and introduces the speaker, Dr. Oscar Handlin. Dr. Handlin lectures on alienation in college students and the students' relationship with the society around them. A question and answer session follows.
